Mortise & tenon mantel

£375.00

Stunning 18th century oak beam, salvaged from a reclamation yard in North Shropshire.

Given the size of the mortise & tenon, this would have been used as a heavy-load support post - possibly in a barn or more likely in a house (given the very solid state of the timber itself).

Work continues on this piece… the space around the tenon could be filled with an epoxy should you wish to ‘close the gap’ - this will help to prevent dust build-up and/or losing valuable items. Photos will be added to the listing as work progresses.
