The client brief: I’d like a bowl for my car keys... yes, you heard me.

My client spied this piece of bog oak on my Instagram account, and instantly fell in love with it. We spoke, and agreed that it would make a great bowl for some very important car keys.

I spent an awful lot of time contemplating exactly how to tackle this one; what was important to us both was preserving as much of the live edge as possible, and converting this battered 5000 year old bog oak cookie into a proper bowl.

The outcome: Still work in progress (as you can see), but this is going to be outstanding if I say so myself.
